Mark Blancken

Hi, I'm Mark Blancken, Associate Agent here at The O'Donohoe Agency in Galveston, Texas. I grew up in the Austin area and earned my degree from Texas State University. Insurance has been part of my life for as long as I can remember — my parents started their own agency in 1996, and my first job was working right alongside them.

After owning and operating my own agency for 13 years, I decided to move to Galveston and join Mr. O'Donohoe's team to focus on what I enjoy most: working directly with clients to build the right coverage for their lives today and tomorrow.

In 2017, I earned my Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation, a mark of advanced expertise that required over 100 classroom hours and five written exams. That deep knowledge allows me to explain insurance policies in a way that's easy to understand — something I believe every client deserves.

Outside the office, I'm a hands-on kind of guy. I love woodworking and can often be found in my shop building furniture and other projects. I'm also a big fan of card magic and have built quite a collection of playing cards over the years. Most weekends, I'm either chasing my four kids around or working on something new in the woodshop.

Giving back is important to me as well. I'm a proud member of Rotary International and an active supporter of the Alzheimer's Association, working toward finding a cure and supporting families impacted by the disease — both locally in Galveston and around the world.
