Serving Up Hope

As the holiday season approaches it’s easy to appreciate the basic necessities such as a warm meal to celebrate with family and friends. However, the reality is that many struggles putting food on the table on a regular basis let alone a holiday meal. 1 in 8 Texans struggles with food insecurity which is one too many. Thankfully, there are organizations and non-profits that are set up to help and change this narrative by providing food for those in need and in turn, hope.

The Galveston County Food Bank is an incredible organization that provides more than just food items for its community. Outside of the essential necessities, they also provide childcare, job placement, family therapy, and other extremely valuable resources. Additionally, they provide several opportunities to serve and give back to help those struggling with this issue through donations, participating in food drives, and volunteering time.
