No Excuse for Child Abuse

All voices deserve to be heard, yet youths often do not feel secure and cannot speak up for themselves. In communities across the country, children experiencing abuse and neglect stay silent. The issue is substantial, but just how bad is it? In Texas, 184 children are confirmed victims daily, and more than 7 children are maltreated every hour. 

Here at The O’Donohoe Agency, we strive to bring hope to those in need. We want to take this opportunity to use our agency’s voice and resources to raise awareness and restore normalcy in the lives of Galveston County’s most vulnerable neighbors. Thankfully in our community, The Advocacy Center for Children of Galveston County has made it its mission to help these innocent children in need. 

The Advocacy Center for Children of Galveston County is a non-profit organization on an ambitious mission to ensure no child in the system falls through the cracks. The staff and volunteers work together under one roof to eliminate the re-victimization of child abuse victims through comprehensive services to child abuse victims and their families. They provide an array of advocacy services open to community members interested in joining its ambitious mission so every child can be safe and have the opportunity to thrive.

Our team is truly inspired by this organization’s noble work for our communities’ most children. For the next three months, our agency will support its ambitious mission to reduce these cycles of abuse and strengthen public awareness.
