Cooking for a Cause

This summer, The O’Donohoe Agency is supporting Yaga’s Children’s Fund of Galveston.

Yaga’s Children’s Fund began in 1997 as a barbecue cook-off and has since transformed into a year-round multi-faceted 501-(c)(3) non-profit located on Pier 21.

Now entering its 22nd year, the Yaga’s Children’s Fund has allocated an excess of $1,000,000 for Galveston County children’s charities. Throughout its history, for every dollar in sponsorships Yaga’s Children’s Fund receives, it has paid to charity $1.20. Additionally, the fund holds its expense ratio below 11%, which allows for an 89% payout to local charities!

The current volunteer board works hard year-round to fund numerous charities with the assistance of generous sponsors and cook teams. The Wild Game BBQ Cook-off isthe premiere spring event in downtown Galveston!
